Population: 750
Nearby: Xlendi bay, Kercem, Sannat, Ta Kolina Cave
Ten minute walk to the South-West of Victoria (the capital city) and you will find yourself in the village of Munxar. The name Munxar (meaning Ducksaw) originated from the zigzagged cliff faces from the Bardan Heights nearby. The village of Munxar is also caressed by the beautiful Ghancija Valley. One can also enjoy the beautiful view of Xlendi Bay that is very close to the village.
The remnants of a prehistoric temple at Ta’ Marziena cans also be mentioned. This temple dates back to the Ggantija period. Unfortunately, this temple was not properly excavated so it cannot be appreciated by people.
The Munxar church dedicated to St. Paul shipwreck is situated in the heart of the village’s square. It was built between the years 1914-1925 and it celebrates the feast on the 10th February. The external feast is celebrated on the last Sunday in May.
